NOTES
Additional Information:ROUNDHOUSE HAS BRICK SIDE WALLS AND LARGE DOORS ACROSS FRONT FACED W/ DIAGONAL BOARDS. EXPOSED RAFTER ENDS; ORIGINAL FOUR OVER FOUR WINDOWS. EXHIBITING SIMPLE WOOD CONSTRUCTION WITH EXPOSED STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS, THE SOO LINE RAILROAD OFFICE CONSTRUCTTED C. 1940 IS BUILT IN THE VERNACULAR UTILITARIAN TRADITION. ONE OF THE FEW EXTANT STRUCTURES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RAILROAD TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM IN CHIPPEWA FALLS, THE SOO LINE RAILROAD OFFICE NEEDS TO BE RECONSIDERED WHEN IT REACHES 50 YEARS OF AGE. THIE BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED BY THE MINNEAPOLIS, ST. PAUL AND SAULT ST. MARIE SOMETIME DURING THE 1940S. THIS BUILDING IS NOT OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE IN CHIPPEWA FALLS AS IT DOES NOT REPRESENT A SIGNIFICANT PERIOD IN CHIPPEWA FALLS RAILROAD DEVELOPMENT; OTHER BETTER REPRESENTATIVES OF THIS PERIOD ARE INCLUDED IN THE SURVEY.
