Additional Information: | Photo code #2: T 20/35 Projecting gables over three sided front bay with pendent bracket ornament and over two story rectangular south bay with shed roofed rectangular bay window; decorative shingles in the gable ends; stained glass windows; chamfered corner on hip roofed central section with bracket trim; two sided open front porch with spindle trim; triangular pediment over the entrance and supported by bracketed turned posts; two story north gabled bay and one story rear addition. As a good representative of the Queen Anne style, this rather elaborate wll preserved vernacular example is important to the quality of the architectural environment in Chippewa Falls. 2015 - This vernacular, two-and-one-half-story, frame house with Queen Anne influences was constructed c.1895. It has irregular massing, wood clapboard siding, and an asphalt-shingled cross gable roof. The front, west façade consists of a projecting front pediment gable with cutaway corners and a corner entry with an open, wrap-around porch supported by turned wood posts and adorned with spindlework. Additional Queen Anne embellishments include a pediment above the porch steps and decorative brackets beneath roof overhangs. Fenestration primarily includes one-over-one wood sash windows. Additionally, the first story of the front gable contains a picture window with a stained glass section, and a small, square oriel bay with a pair of one-over-one windows is located on the south, side elevation. A one-story garage with a shed roof has been added to the north, side elevation. |
