Additional Information: | Three sited bay windows with paneled frieze and aprons on front and south sides. Bracket and medallion trimmed eaves, dormers, gabled dormer with open porch. Flat roofed open entrance porch with double entrance doors; rear addition. Original one over one windows. Queen Anne influenced bay window. Windows and small brackets associated with the Italianate style ornament was made picturesque by the addition of a straight sided mansard roof. Constructed in 1886, almost a decade later than the official second Empire style period, the Fletcher House is further characterized by bracketed shed roof dormers, double entrance doors and a gabled dormer in the upper roof slope. Although a small house and not as elaborate as the Second Empire House at 7-9 Elm Street (CH40-31), the Fletcher House is the best preserved Second Empire styled house in Chippewa Falls. |
