Additional Information: | Square tower and belfry with battlements flank the facade; stylized pointed arched windows with wooden tracery, brick buttresses; gabled projecting south bay; rear addition; stained glass windows. One of three 20th century Gothic Revival church structures in chippewa Falls characterized by the new simplicaity of surface and ornament, the Zion United Methodist Church, constructed in 1922, is important but not a significant example of the style. Organized in 1881 by Dr. H. J. Krikhoefer, the Evangelical U. B. Church of Chippewa Falls, now called Zion United Methodist, built its first church in 1885. The presnet church, built on the same site, was constructed in 1922. |
