NOTES
Additional Information:Wide cornice with paired brackets and dentil trim; elaborate gable ornaments on west side; west wall dormer; two-story east bay; segmental arched windows with projecting brick window heads; open front porch supported by square capped posts; rear one-story gable roofed extension. Built for Andrew Shervey of Brini and Shervey, a local commercial establishment in the late 1880s, the square Shervey house with a truncated hip roof has retained the paired brackets under the eaves, the denticulated cornice and the arched long windows with projecting brick window hoods associated with the Italianate style as found in a more vernacular, simpler interpretation of the style. The Andrew Shervey house is an excellent example of the simple square house influenced by the Italianate style and one of the two best representatives of this type in Chippewa Falls.
