Additional Information: | Three-story tower with shingled upper story flanking the facade; surface of house composed of courses of rough stone contrasted with smooth stone courses; stained and leaded glass windows; wooden porches with stone foundations; rails and stairways; house damaged by fire in December, 1984; stone taken from Colfax stone quarry. Although the significance of the stone Queen Anne styled William Lister House was altered by the fire in December, 1984, the Lister House, in the process of restoration, should be re-evaluated when the project is completed. This residence was constructed in 1904 by William Lister. The property was then owned by Raymond and Caroline Lister until 1930. Subsequent owners were: William and Elizabeth Edler (1930-1955); William and Lorraine Flanagan (1955-1970); Margie Magle (1970-1977); Bonnie Newman (1977-1985). In 1984, the third floor and roof were gutted by fire. The building is presently being restored by its current owner, Michael Young. SEE RECORD #12045 FOR CARRIAGE HOUSE. |
