POINTED ARCHED WINDOWS AND DOOR. Although the cornerstone of this fine Gothic Revival church was laid in 1856, actual construction did not begin until 1864. In 1878, an extension was added on to the church by Henry Boelte, masonry contractor, and Richard D. Vanaken, carpentry contractor and the spire was built. Sanborn-Perris maps further show that a second addition was added at a right angle to the nave for a chapel etc. in 1915. This is one of just a handful of stone buildings in Columbus and it is a fine example of Gothic Revival design.
