Additional Information:ELABORATE BARGE BOARDS, WOOD SHINGLES IN GABLES, WRAP AROUND PORCH W/OCTAGONAL, PAVILION ROOFED GAZEBO ON CNR, TURNED PORCH POLES. MERRIAM WAS A LUMBER AND COAL DEALER IN COLUMBUS. HE LIVED IN THE HOUSE UNTIL 1943. This house is a mail-order house from George Barber in Knoxville. The house is noted in Barber's plan book as Design No. 56, plan No. 1. This house was built for coal dealer J. I. Merriam 1896.
