NOTES
Additional Information:A large and very well-preserved Late Picturesque style house with clapboard siding, pedimental window moldings, a side bay window, a steep front gable with Bungalow veranda intact.

2016: Craftsman style porch remodeled to more appropriately "fit" the largely vernacular style of the house.
Bibliographic References:The Grays physically resided in the home at 822 9th avenue West but appear to have also built this house as an investment property. Construction of this house, as well as their own, is identified in The Ashland Daily Press, 3 December 1887, page 1. Deeds confirm ownership by the Grays through 1892, at which time Gretta, then a widow, sold it to Dr. Nicholas Booth, a dentist, who had been a resident of the house as of 1891, Gretta Gray to N. Booth, QCD (30 December 1892), 49/82, #953. The house changed hands a number of times, but among the owners (from 1893 to 1896) was Louis and Augusta Cartier. again, the parcel changed hands a few times and in 1908 it was purchased by George M. Whitfield.
