Additional Information: | Clapboard is the exterior fabric on this two story homestead residence. The gable roof faces the road and hsa a plain frieze under the eves. There is a front two story projection with a hip roof. Foundation is rock faced and window frames are wide wood with an entablature. The front porch has a shed roof and a picture window underneath it. There are endboards and a box cornice. This building has been altered to the extent that its integrity is lessened and it has no architectural significance. A photo shows this house had the same shape, including the two story front projection. Windows are in the same spot without shutters. The porch is the same shape but the first story front window apperas to be smaller. *NOTE: The photo is identified as pre-cyclone but lack of landscaping and trees and house styles suggest it was after. A lumber company in the back burned in 1913. The area was hit by the storm. This would place the house as being built around 1900-1913. |
