Additional Information: | Brick is the exterior fabric on this 1 1/2 story residence. The gable roof has the gable end facing the road. There is a box cornice and plain frieze under the eaves. The plan is rectangular. Concrete wash is the foundation exterior fabric. There is a basement. The building has Italianate details. Windows are 2/2 and they have arched brick. The front or north side has two windows in the gable and two windows in the west part of the first story. The door is on the east part. It has a brick arched head. The door is under a stoop porch with a hip roof and box cornice. Columns are turned wood and there is sawn wood ornament below the frieze at the columns. There are two columns and two pilasters. Both east and west sides have two 2/2 windows. A one story brick addition is at the back. The west side has one 2/2 window. The east is covered by a screened in porch with a shed roof. To the back (south) of this addition is a one story flat roofed wood garage. The building is one of only a few brick residences in the city. Although it has retained its integrity and is an excellent local example of conservative Italianate detailing, it has no characteristics or details to give it architectural significance. |
