Additional Information: | THIS ONE-STORY, SIDE GABLED RESIDENCE IS DESIGNED WITH A RECTANGULAR PLAN CONFIGURATION, A CLAPBOARD EXTERIOR AND A GABLE ROOF. BUILT IN C. 1840, THE DWELLING HAS HAD SUBSEQUENT ADDITIONS MADE TO IT, THE MOST NOTABLE OF WHICH APPEARS TO THE REAR. (SEE BIB. REF. A). THE HOUSE IS IN GOOD CONDITION. HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: A SMALL MINER'S COTTAGE NOT FAR FROM WHERE COLONEL HENRY DODGE IS BELIVED TO HAVE BUILT HIS FIRST DWELLING AND HIS FURNACE (SEE C. 215 E. FOUNTAIN STREET, 50/25). |
