Additional Information: | #650: 40/24-31. Resurveyed March 2014; new wooden stoop and deck, new front door. 2014- "This property consists of a house [48380], seven small summer cottages [1: 48381, 2: 48382, 3: 48383, 4: 48384, 5: 48385, 6: 48386, 7: 48388], and a storage shed [48387]. The Side Gabled house [483890] was constructed c.1952. It is irregular in plan with vinyl siding and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The house is built into a hill so that the front elevation rises 1-story above grade while the rear elevation is a full 2 stories. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in plan; a front-gabled entry bay projects from the facade; this contains a single door and an adjacent sidelight; on either side of this are two pairs of sliding windows, each of a different size. A garage addition projects from the east elevation; this consists of an older 2-bay section and a newer 1-bay section; each of these have recently-added overhead garage doors. All of the adjacent cottages and storage shed are vernacular in style and were constructed between 194 7 and 1960. The cottages and shed are all small, unadorned buildings with clapboard, stucco, asbestos, and peeled log walls. All cottages have been recently re-roofed and have new wooden stoops and/or decking added at the entrances. Most have new doors and some have new windows." -"STH 42: Bluff Lane (Gibraltar) to Country Walk Dr (Sister Bay), WisDOT#4140-19-00, Prepared by Gail Klein, (2014). |
