Additional Information: | Resurveyed April 2014; new signage across facade. 2014- "This 2-story Front Gabled schoolhouse was constructed in 1921. It is rectangular in plan with clapboard walls and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The front elevation faces north and is symmetrical in plan with a raised wooden deck spanning the width of the façade. A pair of French doors is located in the center of the façade; these are flanked on each side by multi-pane windows of the same size. Above this a wide signboard displays the current name of the establishment (Gallery of Gold); above the signboard is a large bank of Palladian-inspired, multi-pane windows. A square bell-tower with a pyramidal roof is located along the roof peak near the front of the building. The building’s interior consists of a large open space at the main level with smaller rooms at the rear of the building and at the second story. Wood timber supports are located at intervals throughout the building; what appears to be original wood flooring covers the main level. The building currently functions as a jewelry store." -"STH 42: Bluff Lane (Gibraltar) to Country Walk Dr (Sister Bay), WisDOT#4140-19-00, Prepared by Gail Klein, (2014). |
