Historical Background: The First National Bank of Berlin was established in 1876 as a private bank by George Sacket, George Fitch and D. C. Palmeter. The bank was reorganied as the First National Bank of Berlin in 1891. A major fire destroyed the builidng in 1897 and a new bank was constructed.
