Additional Information: | Rising from a concrete block foundation, this one and one half story bungalow is covered with clapboard siding and features an attached, flat roof garage to the west. Side gabled in form, the front (north) slope of the roof extends to form the roof of the porch which features plain wooden supports and a replacement balustrade. A centrally placed door and two, large, single pane windows occupy the first floor. The upper level displays a shed roof dormer which carries two pair of two light windows, as well as a pair of glass doors that open onto a small porch with a wooden balustrade. Windows throughout the remainder of the house are generally one over one light sashes. Detailing is limited to the roof line which features both exposed eaves and wooden knee bracing. The house was likely built in circa 1930 and may have originally been built as a parsonage for the neighboring Salem's Evangelical Church. The house was purchased at one point by the congregation of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church (subsequent owners of the neighboring church building, originally known as Salem's Evangelical Church) and used as a parsonage until circa 1982. Thereafter it was purchased by the Baptist Church and used as a parsonage. |
