Additional Information: | Covered with asbestos shingles, this two story, American Foursquare type duplex rests on a concrete block foundation. A low-pitched, hipped roof porch with square wooden posts and a simple balustrade extends across the primary (north) façade. The porch shelters a pair of centrally placed doors and a large, four light window to either side. The second level of the north elevation features a pair of bay windows; each of which contain three, one-over-one light sashes. A hipped roof dormer rests upon the front slope of the roof and carries a pair of one-over-one light sashes. Window placement along the remaining facades is generally symmetrical and consists of one-over-one light windows. Although the duplex retains its original form, it has been sided with asbestos siding. This house was likely built in the 1910s; however, in February 1947, it was moved to this location from 130 S. Adams Street by Robert & Ruth Carey. The cost of the move was reportedly $5,000. |
