NOTES
Additional Information:This two and one half story American Foursquare styled house features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a granite stone and concrete block exterior, a granite stone and stucco exterior, a stone and wood trim and an asphalt shingled hip roof with dormers. Carved, exposed rafter ends distinguish not only the dormers but also the second story eave line and the porch eave. Round arched openings, a Romanesque Revival styled element, is visible on the front porch. The rectory is in fair condition. Related buildings include an attached garage (GL 23/26), and the St. Joseph's Catholic Church (GL 23/23). Architectural/Engineering Significance: This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic District under Criterion C as an interesting example of an ancillary structure - in this case a rectory - built as part of a Catholic Church complex. The St. Joseph's Rectory is an American Foursquare styled building constructed of matching materials and architecturally unified with the adjacent church by an arcaded loggia porch intended to reflect the bold Romanisque Revival design.
