Additional Information: | This one and one half story Queen Anne house features an irregular shaped plan configuration, a granite stone foundation, a clapboard and wood shingled exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt shingled gable roof with dormers. Decorative wood shingles distinguish the front gable as well as an attic story pediment which caps a two story side bay. A nearly full lenght front porch has an open design. Its flat roof is supported by Tuscan columns. A railing and a wooden base are other porch elements. The residence is in poor condition. Architectural/Engineering Significance: This structure contriubtes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic District under Criterion C as a good example of a small late Queen Anne cottage with ornamental shingling in the gables and a Tuscan order front porch. |
