NOTES
Additional Information:This one and one half story house has cross gabled and Queen Anne influences. It featues a rectangular shaped plan configuration with an addition, a granite stone and concrete block foundation, a wood trim, and an asphalt shingled multi-gabled roof with dormers. Pent roofed eave returns distinguish the gables. Centered on the front gable is a second story hip roofed bay; dentil trim moulding appears at its cornice line. Directly beneath this bay is a full lenght, open designed front porch, whose hipped roof is supported by Tuscan columns. Exterior materials of the building include clapboard, wood shingles, and drop siding. The residence is in fair condition. A related building is a garage (GL 26/15). Architectural/Engineering Significance: This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Historic District under Criterion C as a well preserved example of a modest late Queen Anne cottage representing the Free Classic phase of the style. Except for the installation of fake shutters, the building has been preserved nearly in its original form. There is a c. 1920 frame garage with the original doors intact at the rear.
