Additional Information: | This two story Queen Anne house features an irregular shaped plan configuration, a graninte stone foundation, a clapboard and wood shingled exterior, a wood trim and an asphalt shingled gable and hip roof. Decorative shingles appear in the gables, as well as on a porch pediment. The small front porch has turned and bracketed columns and a wooden railing. Chamfered corners at the front and side elevations are detailed with scalloped woodwork and pendants. The residence is in poor condition. A related building is a garage (GL 28/24). Architectual/Engineering Significance: This structure contributes to the significance of the Nathan Strong Park Historic District under Criterion C as a fine example of a frame Queen Anne house that has been preserved almost without alteration. The spindlework porch is a handsome original feature. At the rear is a fine false-front period garage. |
