NOTES
Additional Information:2019 -
This two-story farmhouse was built c.1870. It is constructed in stone and has stone quoining and a side-gable roof covered in asphalt shingles. The farmhouse has one central brick chimney and one modern brick chimney on its side (south) elevation. Windows include replacement, vinyl, one-over-one, double-hung sash and small arched windows in the gable ends; all have stone lintels and sills. The front (west) facade features a wood entry door, and the original full-width front porch has been removed. A one-and-one-half-story, c.1995 addition with vinyl siding and a gable roof extends from the rear (east) elevation. A c.2005 garage with vinyl siding, front-gable roof with asphalt shingles, and one overhead garage bay is located south of the farmhouse.

The farmstead has several outbuildings. A c.1940 dairy barn (AHI No. 240803) with vertical wood board siding and a gambrel roof clad in wood shingles with two metal ventilators along the roofline is located east of the farmhouse. Two silos stand adjacent to the dairy barn: a c.1965 Harvestore silo and a c.1970 concrete stave silo. A small c.2000 calf shed is located north of the farmhouse; it has corrugated metal siding and a metal asymmetrical side-gable roof leading to a metal pen. A large c.1975 loafing shed with vertical wood siding and a side-gable, corrugated metal roof is located east of the calf shed. A c.2010 carport structure with flat corrugated metal roof supported by vertical wood logs stands east of the dairy barn. A c.2002 barn and c.2015 machine shed are located east of the farmhouse; both have metal siding and metal front-gable roofs.

This property was first deeded to Peter C. Brooks, Jr. and Ignatius Sargent in 1837. By 1873 the land was owned by Dominick O’Malley, and Frederick Buhler purchased it in 1922. Between 1942 and 1971 Sherman L. Wallace owned the property. A 1937 aerial photograph shows a few small outbuildings that were nonextant by 1955. A rear addition (nonextant) was added to the farmhouse in the 1940s. David and Ileen Williamson purchased the property in 1971. While living on the farm they had milk cows and hogs and grew cash crops. The Williamsons replaced the c.1945 addition at the rear of the house with a large c.1995 addition. David and Ileen’s son, Jay Williamson, has owned the farm since 2003 and raises cash crops and steers. A milk house attached to the c.1940 barn was removed c.2010.

THIS STONE HOUSE HAS HAD A LARGE ADDITION ADDED TO ITS REAR ELEVATION IN RECENT YEARS.
