Additional Information: | The 1875 city map of Berlin appears to not a structure at this location, while assessor's records indicate this house was constructed in ca. 1885. Sanborn maps confirm that it was extant by no later than 1895. City director information from 1915-1916 note that Herman Yohr and his wife Augusta were residing in the home at that time; however, the 1892 directory does not list Yohr at that address. By no later than the 1940s, owners of the home were Albert and Mark Ikeman. The Ikemans family ran a hardware store at 199-201 Broadway Street by no later than 1915. In 1983, Arnold and Jeanette Kretzmann obtained the parcel from the Ikemans. In 2002, James Shawn and Lori Plato owned the structure and operated it as a business. |
