Additional Information: | 2014- "The Edgewater Cottages property consists of a Front Gabled house [49622] and seven small vernacular cottages [1: 227859, 2: 49623, 3: 227858, 4: 227856, 5: 49624, 6: 49625, 7: 227610]. The Front Gabled house was constructed c.1950. It is rectangular in plan with vinyl siding and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in plan with a recessed porch at the southeast corner. The porch shelters a single front door and a pair of 1-over-1 windows. An asphalt-shingled, hipped-roof awning spans the remainder of the façade and shelters two pairs of tall, narrow casement windows. The seven adjacent cottages are all 1-story, front gabled buildings that were constructed between about 1920 and 1960. They are all rectangular in plan with clapboard or vinyl siding and asphalt-shingled gable roofs. The earliest cottages are Cottages 2, 3, 4, and 5. Cottages 2, 3, and 4 have clapboard siding while all others have vinyl siding. Cottages 3 and 4 have concrete stoops with cantilevered front-gabled roofs sheltering the front entrance. All other cottages have small wooden stoops/porches at the front door." -"STH 42: Bluff Lane (Gibraltar) to Country Walk Dr (Sister Bay), WisDOT#4140-19-00, Prepared by Gail Klein, (2014). |
