Additional Information: | The buildings of the Bay Shipbuilding Corporation are of no particular architectural significance other than as examples of typical industrial type buildings of the early, mid, and late 20th century. Few, if any, structures appear to be in original condition. All are, however, well maintained and "working" buildings. This area is probably of more interest because of the technilogical significance of this operation in the history of great lakes shipbuilding. This is the site of the former Leathem Smith Lumber Company. For a more detailed discussion, see the summary report of this intensive survey. |
