Additional Information: | This simple, clapboard clad dwelling is an "Ell" in plan. A broad porch with a pediment over the entry spans the street facade. The porch roof is supported by columns in the Tuscan mode while the pediment has shallow modillions beneath the raking cornice. The entry bay projects beneath the porch roof. Another accent is an attic vent in the form of a fan louvred lunette in the primary gable. The classical detailing indicates that this otherwise simple building is a vernacular expression of the Colonial Revival design influence of the early 20th century applied to workingman's house. It is of architectural interest for this reason. |
