Additional Information: | This two-story vernacular style house is an ell in plan with gables on the primary and side facades. The roof extends downward to cover the porch which fills the two legs of the ell. The building is clapboard covered and pierced with a variety of window forms-including triple windows in a Palladian arrangement and double windows with leaded/stained glass in the window transoms. The rear entry porch has a shed roof and an ornately arched opening. The quality of the characteristic detailing and the architectural integrity make this building an excellent example of a typical local residential building type and once common architectural style within the District. This site does not appear on the Sanborn Perris Maps until 1911. Block 29 was unimproved in 1900. f In 1904 A. Homachek came into possession of the above noted lots and built $2450 worth of improvements on the site raising the value from a mere $25 to a total of $3000. |
