Additional Information:Two story frame house, gable roof facing street. Exhibits design features of the Greek Revival and Italianate styles. The corner pilaster strips and the recessed door with sidelights are typical features of the Greek Revival style. The Italianate style is evident in the door and the window moldings. Built in about 1865 for R.J. Richardson. Richardson is listed in the 1866 city direcory as a dealer in agricultural implements on Main Street; in the 1870 city directory as president of the Doty Manufacturing Co.; in the 1876 city directory as superintendent of the Doty Manufacturing Co.; and in the 1891 city directory as owner of the Globe Works Co., manufacturers of Globe windmills.
