NOTES
Additional Information:This two and one half story house and adjacent carriage house, which is contributing, represent the "purest" examples of the Queen Anne style in Janesville. Queen Anne features include a multi-planed roof, variety of wall surfaces, projecting attic gable with a recessed porch, projecting gables, fish scale shingles, tall thin chimneys, and a full front porch. The carriage house is a two story, gabled roof structure with a projecting, three sided bay, and a ventilator.

Built in about 1885 for Clarence W. Jackman. Jackman was a partner in the Janesville Carriage Works and served as vice president of the Rock County National Bank.

"This handsome Queen Anne house, one of the city's best examples of the style, was built for a partner in the Janesville Carriage Works. The building rests on a rusticated limestone foundation and is constructed of cream brick and shingle-covered frame. A variety of patterned shingles were used to add texture to the exterior."
