NOTES
Additional Information:"One of the largest houses in Janesville, this was first built for the Jackman family, but is best known as a Carle property. Levi B. Carle was a tobacco merchant who arrived in Rock County in 1852. He also served as President of the First NAtional Bank and the Janesville Machine Company. His son, Norman, enlarged the house to its present size in 1911. The rebuilding was in the Tudor Revival style; the half-timbered gable is a prominent feature."
