NOTES
Additional Information:Two-story L-shaped frame house with Italianate details. Italianate features include overhanging eaves and decorative window moldings. Built in about 1870 for Lucius N. Williamson, a travelling agent for the Hawes grocery, who lived here until 1910. Williamson was also involved with the Williamson Pen Company. A 1908 history of Rock County reads in part: "The success of the Parker Pen Company has naturally caused other manufacturers of fountain pens to locate in Janesville, the next largest being the Williamson Pen Company, who have a factory in the Corn Exchange block.

"This gable-roofed Italianate house is a good example of a simple version of the style. Most significant are the segmental arch windows with prominent hood moldings, and an oval ventilator in the central gable. Lucius N. Williamson, of the Williamson Pen Company, owned this house between 1876 and 1910." The Courthouse Hill Historic District: A Guide, Janesville Historic Commission, 1997.
