It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. RAISED MORTAR. 1/2 ROUND WINDOW IN GABLE. CUT STONE LINTELS. Previously surveyed in 1979. A prominent barn oh a quarried stone foundation and bearing the date 1908 is immediately behind the house. A sign in front of the property indicated that it is the "Roelke Homestead." 1993- "Rising from a stone foundation, the main block of this gabled el structure is an excellent example of Block and Stack construction that was found in northwestern Dane County and the Sauk City area. Although their size has not been altered, integrity questions can be raised about the new, single pane windows and the enclosed porch. A prominent barn on a quarried stone foundation, and bearing the date 1908, is immediately behind the house. A sign in front of the property indicates that it is the "Roelke Homestead." The Roelke family was named as one of the early families in the Roxbury area by the St. Norbert's history. This farm was also identified in the Town of Roxbury/St. Norbert's grant proposal." - "USH 12, Sauk City to Middleton", WisDOT ID #5300-03-01, Prepared by John N Vogel, PhD (1993).
