Additional Information: | NOTE: 415 on 1957 Sanborn-Perris Map; 413 on building. Fine Prairie School design. Hip roof covered in tiles with broad, overhanging eaves. A single copper roofed arch roof dormer faces to the front and has four 4-light fixed windows. The building rests on a raised concrete foundation having a watercourse of soldier course brick just above. All the house windows have concrete sills with the second floor window sills being part of a concrete beltcourse which surrounds the house. This beltcourse bisects a large window on the west facing facade which lights the stair hall. There is a flat roofed polygonal bay window to the right of the projecting entrance porch on the main facade. The side entrance door on the east facing facade has an arched entrance hood above it. The rectory of St. John's Church is significant not only as a fine example of Prairie School design, but also as one of the three buildings, including St. John's School (80/4) and St. John's Church (80/8) which make up the proposed St. John's Historic District. The significance of the rectory is enhanced by its excellent original condition and by the fine quality of the maintenance it has received. Green Bay Intensive Survey Phases 2, 3 & 4 |
