Additional Information: | This two-story, clapboard clad house is a relativelyunaltered example of the plainly detailed vernacular style. It is a "Tee" in plan with entries worked in on either side of the primary wing. The only embellishment on this simple house is the detasiling of the entry porches--the smaller with scrollsawn brackets, the primary with elliptically arched and shingled spandrels between square porch posts. This arched detailing may be a later modification but, this building is of some architectural interest as a relatively intact example of a once common local style. |
