Photo code #3: K-17/20 A significant example of the Neo-Classical style applied to a commercial building in Wausau. It is the only structure in the city faced with terracotta and importantly gives testimony to the popularity of that material and the Neo-Classical Revival in general in the midwest as a reaction to the Chicago World's Fair of 1892. The building features arcaded windowing, a prominent cornice with modillions and brackets and a balustraded roofline. Wisconsin Valley trust Company was founded in 1906. |
