Additional Information:Late example of the Victorian Eclectic, has a mixture of Italianate, Gothic and Romanesque details which include two west-end towers with tureets, a dome over the crossing, and cupolas on either side of the transepts. Metal roofing. Greek cross church with large central lantern, twin spires at entrance. Romanesque influence in round arched windows.

St. James parish organized in 1904. While the church was under construction in 1911, the dome crashed to the basement, killing two construction workers. Church was finished in 1912.
