Additional Information: | The circa 1850s canal at Little Kaukauna is an approximately 1,000-foot section of the Lower Fox River Waterway Lock and Canal System. The dam is to the south of the very west end of the short canal segment. The dam creates the pool that floods the portion of the canal on which the lock is located. It is approximately six feet deep and 100-150 feet wide and its banks are stabilized by steel panels. The canal was periodically dredged throughout its history to maintain the depth. |
