NOTES
Additional Information:This largely intact Astylistic Utilitarian form two-part building consists of a two-story gable-roofed main block to whose north-facing side elevation is attached a wider, shed-roofed one-story wing. The foundation of the main block is made of rubble stone and probably encloses a crawlspace while the foundation of the one-story wing appears to be a concrete pad that is probably a later modification. Both the main block and the wing are still clad in their original wooden drop siding and both still retain their original six-over-six-light double hung wood sash windows as well, which are found on both the main and side elevations. The facade of the main block is symmetrical in design and three-bays-wide and that of the wing being asymmetrical and four-bays-wide. The first story of the middle bay of the main block contains a large pair of side-hinged barn doors that are clad in angled siding and a second, only slightly smaller pair is placed in the second story directly above. Additional large door openings occupy the first and third bays (from the right) of the wing as well, although both of these openings are now filled with modern overhead garage doors, these being the only changes that have affected the exterior of the building (2005).

This building is located in the historic unincorporated crossroads community of Flusher and while its history is not known it may first have been used as blacksmith shop/ livery stable, as a place where wagons and carriages were manufactured, or for some other use that would have been typically found in its originally rural setting. The date of construction is also not known but would appear to be from the 1860s to the 1880s based on its design. Plat maps show the land it sits on was owned by Zachary Morretz in 1873 and by J. Kuhnert between 1887 and 1893, and the building could have been built by either one although it may also have been built earlier as well.
Never-the-less, this building is a rare surviving example of the kind of early buildings that were built to serve the needs of area farmers.
