Additional Information: | Description: This two story commercial building has brick and plate glass exterior fabric. The roof is flat and there is a rear addition. The second story is similar to the one of the next building to the north (see SC 25/6). They are apartments. Windows are new and partly filled in (originally had brick sill and head). A simple brick pattern is at the top. The building has no architectural significance. History: In 1887 this site was part of the Hotel Nicolett (see SC 25/6). A brick general store was here in 1892. Destroyed in the 1899 cyclone, it was rebuilt after 1912 as a two story brick building with composite roof. McDermott's Hardware was here once, while Larson's Hardware was established here in 1959. This building has no outstanding historical significance. Its development is like that of the rest of New Richmond's businesses. |
