NO CHANGE IN 2001 SURVEY. 2015- "The Joseph and Ingrid Valley House was constructed in 1922. It is a two-story residence with Prairie-style influences. It has an L-shaped footprint that is enlarged by a one-story, flat roof projection with brick corner posts, a wood balustrade, and line of wood casement windows. The roof of the house itself is hipped with wide eaves and features a center hipped dormer with three small casement windows. Both the roof of the house and the dormer walls are clad in asphalt shingles. A wide brick chimney rises from the west roof slope. The exterior of the house is clad in brick. The brick surface is broken by a concrete string course that runs below the second story windows and extends continuously across each elevation. Additional visual interest is created by a wood frieze band beneath the eaves. Fenestration includes paired three-over-one wood sashes on the second story of the facade second story. The ell portion of the house features the same window type as the one-story projection on the facade. The entrance is located on the ell. It is a partially glazed wood door framed by sidelights. It is sheltered by a small flat roof supported by a wide bracket, and is accessed by a concrete run of stairs." - "Washington Ave (STH 20), Roosevelt Ave to West Blvd", WISDot #2440-09-00, Prepared by Shelley Greene (2015). |
