It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Built by Robert Albert. The Gottlieb's lived here from at least 1946-1987. 2008- Appearance unchanged since house was surveyed in 1994. 1-story, hip roof, irregular plan house with brick veneer. Windows are casement, clerestory, picture window on facade. Low pitch roof, combination of brick and horizontal wood siding, overhanging eaves, carport on facade supported by decorative wood posts with brick piers. No additions recorded in city records. Date of construction acquired from city records. Since building materials were in short supply in the postwar years, Tafel inventively employed used paving brick from Kenosha. Family room addition. Mr. Gottlieb was the vice president of Porter Furniture Co., and worked for them for 54 years. He came to Racine in 1924 from Lithuania, where he was born in 1900. He went to work at Porters that year as a deliveryman.
