Additional Information: | Despite modifications to the original storefront, this false front building is a good example of a common vernacular commercial style. The false front appears to be a later addition, probably done at the same time the building was clad with pressed metal panels. Early photographs (1879) show this building without the false front. This was probably added and the building remodeled when taken over by R.A. Smith about 1893. Smith ran a furniture and undertaking business on the premises. |
