NOTES
Additional Information:Although artifical siding and the enclosed porch mask its historical detailing, this house is an example of a once common vernacular building type. A historic photograph reveals that the front section of this house stood alone and was clapboarded with a decorative spool and spindle porch. The rear portion of the house was added later along wiht the siding and other changes. The original front section of this house was the ome of G.O. Gilbertson, co-owner of the Gilbertson-Myhre Department Store. As a prominent local businessman, Gilbertson also helped organize the Artic Springs Creamery, a significant Galesville dairy business in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
