Additional Information: | The two story gable and wing house of cream brick with Queen Anne details was built circa 1890s-1910s. Its one story projecting wraparound porch has front and side entrances, with paneled square wood posts resting on brick pedestals, and wood balustrade panels between them. The porch roof extends from a squared one-story bay projecting from the house’s front gable, with decorative brackets at the cornice. The squared bay has wood molding between a pair of tall double-hung windows. At the second floor above the bay, a pair of double-hung windows are topped with a hood molding, with patterned brickwork above. At the side facades, double-hung windows are aligned between the first and second stories, with projecting stone sills and inset stone headers. The house has a central brick masonry chimney, and a quarried stone foundation. At the northeast corner, a sunroom appears to be an early modification. The property also includes a circa 1940s-1970s side gabled garage with a shingled exterior, octagonal window, and two updated roll-up doors. Adjacent to the garage is a one story utility building circa 1960s-1980s. To the rear is a rainbow roofed barn circa 1900s – 1920s clad in oxidized aluminum siding, with an oxidized steel roofing and a sealed cupola also clad in aluminum siding, and a narrow pent roof above a updated roll-up door at the gable end. Additional agricultural and storage buildings circa 1970s-1990s are located behind the barn and garage. The resource was surveyed in 1980. No changes are evident in the house since its original survey date, and the house is in good condition. The garage and utility building near the house are also in good condition. However the rainbow-roofed barn’s exterior finishes show considerable weathering. |
