Additional Information: | This two story frame house is an example of the Colonial Revival style of architecture. It has a steeply-pitched hip roof wityh projecting hip roof dormers. The eaves of the roof and the dormers rae decorated with exposed rafter ends that resemble modillions. The house has very narrow clapboards, and window openings are largely single-light double-hung sashes. The front porch is also classically decorated. It features a hip roof with a pediment parapet. The parapet is decorated with foliated designs. The roof is supported by groups of Tuscan columns that sit on coursed limestone piers. Its basic form is that of a large American Foursquare house, but the use of the exposed rafter ends and the elaborate classically-influenced porch, give this building added style. Further research may uncover an owner or occupant with historical significance. |
