Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. Another map code is 1992 City Map 92/342. Arhictectural Statement: A Prairie influence is suggested by the smooth stucco walls, simple frame trim and overhanging roof of the Hardy House; however, at the time of construction the design was described as a Swiss chalet. A pavilion, covered by a gable roof, appears centered on the facade of this two story building. A large porch supportd by square posts partially covers the facade. The residence is in fair condition. It was owned in 1982 by Rose M. Erke of 1225 E. Newhall Avenue. Historical Statement: W. H. Hardy, Jr. was the secretary-treasurer of the Hardy Ryan Abstract Company. [B]. |
