NOTES
Additional Information:Stow story Late Picturesque style house with front end gable and a two story bay window. Most original windows are intact on house and front sunporch. Note rear entrance.

2008-This house has not changed since it was surveyed in 1982 and again in 2000.

2008- "Sheathed with clapboard, this two-story, gabled house rises from a rock-faced, concrete block foundation. A gabled,
enclosed porch with three-over-one-light sashes front the home's primary (southwest) facade. Windows throughout the
remainder of the house are either two-over-two or one-over-one-light, double-hung sashes.

Based on tax roll information, a house was located on this lot by no later than 1887; indeed, Sanborn maps confirm that
this house was built by no later than 1895. City directory information identifies three men as living at this address in
1890; they include: John Olafson, Barney Jacobs and Ole Elwold, all of which are cited as laborers. By the following
year, carpenter Frederick Alfregren is identified as living at 522 Beaser. Between 1901 and 1909, the one-story front
porch was added. The property's longest-term owner was Simon Anderson, operator of a meat store (the store of which
was located at the rear of the lot) from about the turn-of-twentieth century through to about 1935. Although he owned
the house, he and his family lived on Twelfth Avenue West. Thereafter, Alfred Anderson (a meat cutter) is cited as living
in the home."

Bibliographic References:Tax rolls indicate that a house was located here by no later than 1887. Sanborn maps, which do not reach this area until 1895, do verify that the house was indeed here by 1895. The existing porch appears to have been added between 1901 and 1909 (per Sanborn maps).
