Additional Information: | Original windows partially filled and replaced with smaller windows; brick elevations accented with white masonry and brick work. St. Patrick's School was originally built in 1932 as a onet-story, four-room brick building for a cost of $21,273. Father Flock was the pastor of the church at the time. In 1950, a second story was added to the building, which had additional classrooms, a library and a learning center. St. Patrick's School possesses potential historical significance, but because little historical data is currently developed on the role parochial schools placed in the development of education in Sparta, its role in the community remains unclear. Minimal abstract Classical characteristics such as the suggestion of a pediment over the entrance door are displayed in the design of this school. St. Patrick's School, built in 1932, received a second story addition in 1950. |
