| Additional Information: | This simple two story Commercial Vernacular building was originally a frame hotel building and a frame retail building that were architecturally joined around the turn of the century. The building has a brick facing. It has a terra cotta cornice below a parapet. It features classically-decorated modillions. The windows are large single lights with transoms. The storefronts have large show windows, wood trim, and recessed entrances. The south storefront is more historically intact than the north storefront. This building is of some architectural interest as an example of the Commercial Vernacular style. The Fountain City Hotel was at this location between at least 1880 and 1908. This building has some historical interest as an old building. |
