Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This two story Commercial Vernacular style business building is constructed of bricks that have been painted. The building has a simple cornice of unusual brick corbelling. The three upper openings have been partially enclosed with small, modern casement windows. The original round arched openings are decorated with raised segmental arches. The first floor storefront has been modernized with a metal panel covering the transom, small single pane windows, and a modern recessed entrance. This building is a good example of the Commercial Vernacular style. This building housed numerous businesses throughout its history including a flour and feed store, a grocery store, a millinery shop, and a tavern. |
